History
Filmotechnic, founded in 1990 in Kyiv, Ukraine is an original in the industry and established the innovative standards by which other companies are measured. Over the past 30 years, Academy Award Winning engineer Anatoliy Kokush and his team have built a legacy of advanced camera support systems.
The company’s track record of Academy Award-winning developments coupled with other respected achievements in enabling camera movements and image stabilization delivers a diverse range of camera cranes and gyro-stabilized remote heads for the motion picture, television, and advertising industries.
Filmotechnic Kyiv remains the world headquarters for an ever-expanding company with 35 branches and partners across Europe, South- and North America, the UK, Asia, South Africa, Russia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Academy’s Scientific and Technical Awards
In 2006, Anatoliy Kokush, Yuriy Popovsky, and Oleksiy Zolotarov were awarded a Technical Achievement Award at the 78th Academy Awards for the concept and development of the 'U-CRANE' gyro-stabilized camera crane and the gyrostabilized remote head 'Flight Head'. Later Anatoliy Kokush won an Oscar for the concept and development of the 'Traveling Cascade Crane'.
Cinec Award
In 2010, Filmotechnic received the CINEC award in the category of 'Camera Support-Systems' for the development of the gyroscopic U-CRANE and in 2018 the award was presented for the design of the new telescopic U-CRANE. The Cinec Awards are presented by the prestigious Bavarian Society for the Advancement of Film Technology, and awarded to innovative and trendsetting products and developments in motion picture technology.
Cine Gear Expo Award
In 2021 Filmotechnic received the 'Cine Gear Expo Technical Achievement Award' for the invention and design of the Technoscope telescoping camera crane series.
